Standard Rod with Fascia

How it works – Standard Rod with Fascia

Morgik has created a unique way to combine both our traditional rods and rings for decorative curtain panels in front with the motorized track with our decorative metal fascia in the rear.   For the front rod we recommend our 1 ¼” diameter rods as they closely match the profile of our round fascia cover.

Our metal fascia covers and brackets allow you to install the motorized tracks and then add the metal fascia cover and then use our standard scoop for the traditional rod.  It is that easy.  * Note that the maximum length of our fascia covers is 116” without a splice.  With splice brackets and covers, there is no limit to the overall length that can be done.

Standard Rod with Fascia | Decorative Drapery Hardware with Concealed Motorized Tracks

A standard rod with fascia is the specification that resolves one of the most persistent challenges in high-end window treatment design — how to showcase beautiful decorative drapery hardware while concealing the motorized technology operating behind it. Morgik’s custom-fabricated standard rod with fascia systems mount a traditional decorative rod in front of a metal fascia cover, allowing decorative curtain panels to hang from rings and finials on the visible rod while motorized sheers, blackout treatments, or automated draperies operate discreetly behind the fascia — completely hidden from view. The result is a layered window treatment that delivers elegance, convenience, and a clean architectural finish in a single integrated system, fabricated to order at Morgik’s Paterson, NJ factory.

How a Standard Rod with Fascia Works

The standard rod with fascia configuration places a decorative curtain rod — with rings, finials, and all visible hardware — in front of a custom metal fascia cover that conceals a motorized drapery track mounted behind it. The two systems operate independently: the decorative panels on the front rod are stationary or hand-drawn, while the motorized treatment behind the fascia operates via Lutron, Somfy, or another automation platform. This layered approach gives designers complete control over both the decorative and functional elements of the window treatment without either system compromising the other.

For projects where the front decorative rod is part of a deliberate design statement — a substantial brass rod with decorative finials in a luxury residence, or a square steel rod in a contemporary hospitality suite — the fascia system behind it ensures that the motorized mechanism never distracts from the hardware that is meant to be seen.

Premium Materials, Profiles, and Custom Finishes

Every standard rod with fascia system is fabricated in your choice of steel, brass, or stainless steel, in both round and square fascia profiles, and finished across Morgik’s complete range of quality finishes — ensuring the fascia cover coordinates seamlessly with the decorative rod in front of it.

  • Round fascia profile — suited to traditional and transitional interiors where the decorative front rod carries a classical or warm design character
  • Square fascia profile — suited to contemporary and modern interiors where sharp geometry defines the design language of both the rod and the fascia behind it
  • Steel — strong and versatile for large-scale residential and commercial installations
  • Brass — warm, refined, and the preferred material for luxury residential and hospitality specifications
  • Stainless steel — precise and corrosion-resistant for contemporary and coastal environments

Decorative finials, rings, and accessories for the front rod are available across the full Morgik hardware collection and can be specified to coordinate with the fascia finish for a fully unified system appearance.

Custom Fabrication for Every Installation

Because no two window treatment installations are identical, every standard rod with fascia system Morgik fabricates is made to order — custom lengths, projections, bracket configurations, splice solutions, and architectural detailing included. Standard projections accommodate most applications, while extended projections can be fabricated to support deeper motorized track systems or additional layered treatments in front of the fascia.

For oversized windows, floor-to-ceiling openings, and expansive wall applications, splice solutions extend the fascia system across any span while maintaining a continuous, uninterrupted appearance — with seam covers concealing all transition points from end to end. Bay window conditions, corner configurations, and ceiling mount applications are all accommodated through direct consultation with the Morgik fabrication team.

Ideal Applications

The standard rod with fascia configuration is specified across a wide range of residential and commercial project types where decorative hardware and concealed automation must coexist at the highest level of finish — luxury residences, hospitality environments, executive offices, designer showrooms, and high-end commercial interiors where the window treatment is as much a design feature as the furniture and finishes surrounding it.

Architects, interior designers, drapery workrooms, and window treatment professionals who specify this configuration consistently cite the same reason: it is the only hardware solution that allows a truly decorative rod to be the visual anchor of a window treatment while keeping all motorized components completely out of sight.
