Flat rod profiles create minimal, contemporary window treatments with clean horizontal lines. Proper sizing balances visual proportion with structural requirements. This guide covers standard dimensions for Morgik flat rods.
For custom sizes, contact our team for specific recommendations.
Flat rods are specified by width (face dimension) and thickness (depth):
1″ × 3⁄16″ – Slightly more rigid for moderate spans.
1½” × ¼” – Substantial flat profile with good structural capacity.
2″ × ¼” – Wide face for visual impact and longer spans.
2″ × ⅜” – Maximum rigidity in flat stock for heavy treatments.
Custom dimensions available to your specifications.
Flat rods are inherently less rigid than round or square profiles of equivalent material. They flex more easily under load, requiring closer bracket spacing and limiting maximum spans.
Typical maximum spans for flat rods are 30 – 50% less than equivalent round rod diameters. Heavy treatments may require support every 24-36 inches.
Face Mount – Flat against the wall with fabric falling in front.
Edge Mount – Projecting from wall with face vertical or horizontal.
Ceiling Mount – Suspended from above for floor-to-ceiling treatments.
Channel Carriers – Sliding within integrated tracks for smooth operation.
Ring Options – Specialty flat-compatible rings where ring-hung aesthetics are desired.
