Hand Drawn

Morgik / Traverse Rods / Hand Drawn
Hand drawn traverse systems, also called baton-draw systems—operate draperies via a wand attached to the lead carrier. This cord-free method provides safe, intuitive operation preferred for many contemporary installations. Morgik manufactures hand-drawn traverse rods in our Paterson, New Jersey facility. Every system is fabricated to your exact window dimensions.

How Hand-Drawn Systems Work

A rigid wand or baton attaches to the master carrier of the traverse track. Pushing or pulling the wand moves the drapery panels along the track. The wand provides positive control without touching the fabric itself.

Advantages of Hand-Drawn Operation

Child Safety – No cord loops eliminate entanglement hazards in homes with children.
Simple Operation – Intuitive push-pull movement requires no instruction.
Positive Control – Direct connection to the carrier provides precise panel positioning.
Minimal Hardware – No pulleys, cords, or tensioners to maintain.
Contemporary Aesthetic – Clean appearance suits modern interiors.

Wand Options

Rigid Wands – Solid metal or acrylic batons in lengths from 24″ to 84″.
Decorative Wands – Wands with finial-style ends matching your hardware.
Clear Wands – Acrylic options for minimal visibility.

Wand finishes coordinate with your rod, bracket, and ring selections.

Decorative Integration

Our hand drawn traverse systems integrate with Morgik decorative rods and hardware. The traverse mechanism is concealed within or behind the decorative rod, maintaining traditional drapery aesthetics with modern operation.

Application Notes

Hand drawn systems work best for treatments within comfortable reach. For very high windows or installations where reaching the wand is impractical, consider cord-drawn or motorized alternatives.
