Wands

Drapery wands – also called batons or pull sticks—provide a practical method for operating curtain panels without touching the fabric. Morgik manufactures custom wands in steel, brass, and stainless steel, finished to match your hardware for a coordinated system.

Every wand is fabricated in our Paterson, New Jersey facility to your specifications.

Wand Advantages

Fabric Protection – Wands eliminate hand contact with drapery fabric, preventing soil transfer and wear at handling points. Essential for delicate or light-colored fabrics.
Reach Extension – Wands allow operation of high-mounted or wide-spanning treatments without reaching or stretching.
Child Safety – Wands provide an alternative to cord operation, reducing cord hazard concerns in homes with children.
Smooth Operation – Proper wand technique provides controlled, even panel movement along the rod.

Wand Styles

Straight Wands – Simple cylindrical shafts in lengths from 24″ to 84″ and can be customized to your exact specifications. The most common configuration for general applications.
Decorative Wands – Incorporate finial-style ends or decorative elements that complement the hardware design.

Attachment Methods

Ring Attachment – Wand connects to the lead ring with a hook.
Carrier Attachment – For traverse systems, wand attaches directly to the master carrier.

Finish Coordination

Wand finishes are matched to your rod, bracket, and ring selections, ensuring visual consistency. When wands are visible (as with sheer treatments), this coordination is particularly important.

Length Selection

Wand length depends on window height and user reach. The wand should hang at a comfortable height for the primary operator while reaching the lead ring or carrier. For tall installations, longer wands maintain easy access.
