Cord Drawn

Morgik / Traverse Rods / Cord Drawn
Cord drawn traverse systems operate draperies smoothly via a continuous cord loop—the traditional method for opening and closing window treatments without touching the fabric. Morgik manufactures cord-drawn traverse rods with decorative hardware profiles in our Paterson, New Jersey facility. Every system is fabricated to your exact window dimensions.

How Cord-Drawn Systems Work

A continuous cord loop runs through pulleys at each end of the traverse track. Pulling one side of the cord opens the draperies; pulling the other side closes them. The cord can be positioned on either side of the window, or both sides for two – way operation.

Advantages of Cord Operation

Precise Control – Graduated movement allows precise positioning of panels at any point along the track.
Fabric Protection – No hand contact with drapery fabric preserves appearance and extends fabric life.
Remote Operation – Cords can extend to convenient operating positions away from the window.
Traditional Aesthetic – Familiar operation preferred by many clients.

Cord Configurations

Single Draw – One cord position, typically on the side of the dominant hand.
Double Draw – Cords on both sides for flexibility.

Decorative Integration

Our cord drawn traverse systems integrate with Morgik decorative rods and finials. The traverse mechanism is concealed while the exposed hardware maintains traditional drapery aesthetics.

Available in round, square, and flat rod profiles with our complete finish library.

Safety Considerations

Cord loops present potential safety concerns in homes with children. We offer cord tensioners as safety measures. Alternatively, consider our baton – draw systems for cord-free operation.
